Course Description
Discover the unique learning etiquette and valuable techniques employed throughout the centuries by students in their quest to acquire knowledge.
As someone who aspires to be a student of sacred knowledge, or if you have already started your journey as a student, you may come across and face various hurdles such as difficulty with concentration, dedicating firmly to a course or subject, motivation to keep at it etc.
You will also learn about the illusions of learning, memory techniques, dealing with procrastination, and the best practices shown by research & history to be the most effective in helping you learn.
The course is based on al-Qadi Badr al-Din Ibn Jama‘ah’s Etiquette of the Learner, extracted from his Tadhkirat al-Sami wa ’l-Mutakallim fi Adab al-‘Alim wa ’l-Muta’allim (A Memorandum to the Listener and the Speaker on the Etiquette of the Scholar and the Learner) and Ta’lim al Muta’allim of Burhan al-Din al-Zarnuji.

Shaykh Nizam started his early education memorising the Qur’an, which he completed at Darul Ulum al-‘Arabiyyah al-Islamiyyah (Dar al-‘Ulum Bury), Bury, UK. Thereafter he commenced the ‘Alimiyyah programme in the Islamic sciences at Miftah al-‘Ulum, Blackburn, UK, where he completed four years of the course. He then travelled to Egypt where he spent a year studying various Islamic sciences before returning to the UK and completing the ‘Alimiyyah programme at Dar al-’Ulum Ford Square, London, UK.
