The Distinguisher Between Right & Wrong
Class Timings: 3 Weeks – Tuesdays | 6:00pm
Start Date: Tuesday 5th September | 6:00pm
The sahabah (companions of our beloved prophet Muhammadﷺ (were selected by Allah to benefit directly from the blessed company of Allah’s Messengerﷺ. They were individuals who imitated every aspect of the blessed behaviour and characteristics possessed by Allah’s Messengerﷺ. Every believer has a duty to educate themself regarding these illustrious companions, since it is due to them that the blessed sunnah was conveyed with such great precision. It is because of them that knowledge of the prophetic sunnah has reached us.
‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was among the fiercest opponents and
enemies of Allah’s final Messenger, our beloved Prophet Muhammadﷺ. He became enraged upon learning that his sister and brother-in-law had embraced Islam. Yet, along with his great passion, he also proved to be extremely sincere. Allah’s Messengerﷺbeseeched Allah for his guidance and acceptance of Islam. This supplication was subsequently accepted, and ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) became one of the greatest Muslims and companions of the Prophetﷺ.’ Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “We did not cease being mighty/august since ‘Umar became a Muslim.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
