Lessons from the Qur’an and the Prophetic Tradition
Time: 7:00pm (GMT)
Date: Thursday 2nd November
Giving charity is something that has been greatly emphasised in Islam. Allah (Mighty and Majestic is He) tests each and every person in different ways. Some, who do not have an abundance of wealth, for example, are tested with being patient and persevering yet also generous. Others, who do have an abundance of wealth, are tested with being generous, spending their wealth on the needy for the sake of Allah, and also avoiding spending their wealth in haram (prohibited) avenues.
All of the wealth that we possess has been bestowed upon us by Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). Thus, we should never allow ourselves to become greedy or miserly. We should always express our gratitude to Allah (Mighty and Sublime is He) for all that He has given us, by spending generously in His path, for His sake. Moreover, giving in charity does not decrease one’s wealth. Whatever we spend sincerely for the sake of Allah is a major investment that shall yield significant returns both in this life and the next.
During this Webinar, we will be taking a look at some of the verses from the Noble Qur’an and the Prophetic Narrations (ahadith) that discuss infaq (spending). We will learn about the great generosity of our beloved Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), despite him not being a particularly wealthy individual. Various other subsidiary points
