For Students of Hanafi Fiqh
Students of Hanafi Fiqh will often encounter different views on one issue. From studying texts like Nur al-Idah, Sharh al-Wiqayah and al-Hidayah, apart from different views, they will be familiar with terms like “zahir al-riwayah”, “sahih”, “asahh” and “mufta bihi”.
The course “How to Identify the Relied-Upon Position in the Hanafi Madhhab” is designed to explain:
a) why these different views exist
b) why it is necessary to follow only the “correct” (i.e. authoritative) view of the Hanafi Madhhab
c) the process and methodology by which the authoritative view is determined
d) what these terms (like “zahir al-riwayah”, “sahih”, “asahh” etc.) mean
The course’s primary aim is to provide a simple breakdown of these key issues, with examples and illustrations, as well as introducing important authors and their works.
A secondary aim is to introduce participants to some of the difficulties inherent in this field.
This short-term course is neither part of an “Ifta-course” nor a bridge to one. It is aimed only at enhancing participants’ understandings of the Hanafi Madhhab and to enable them to appreciate why the Madhhab has developed the way it has.
● Ideal for intermediate to advanced students of Hanafi Fiqh and also graduates
● A beneficial refresher for Ifta graduates
● Not suitable for complete beginners
● Open to brothers and sisters
