It has been narrated from Allah’s Messenger ﷺ that he said: “Take notice, every one of you is a shepherd and every one of you is responsible for his flock. The leader who presides over people is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The man is a shepherd for his household and he is responsible for them. The woman is a shepherd over her husband’s house and children and she is responsible for them. The slave is a shepherd over the wealth of his master and he is responsible for it. Take notice, every one of you is responsible for his flock.”

Mufti Hanif Yusuf Patel
Mufti Hanif completed his memorisation of the Qur’an as well as the six year ‘Alimiyyah programme in the Islamic sciences at Jami’at al-‘Ilm Wa ‘l-Huda (Dar al-‘Ulum Blackburn), Blackburn, UK. He then went on to further his studies and completed an Ifta/Takhassus fi’ l-Fiqh (specialisation in fiqh and fatwa) course at Dar al-Ifta al-Mahmudiyyah in Durban, South Africa under renowned specialists Mufti Ebrahim Desai and Mufti Husain Kadodia.
